Jan Vičar uses various printing methods from matrices in his graphic art, and his heraldic technique is linocut. He utilizes various print forms of depth and height up to multilayered reprints from small matrices, which allow him to make use of grandiose formats.
His themes are primarily drawn from landscapes and nature; he favors Moravian folklore, even exotic cultures such as African.
He has exhibited since the mid-80s and his latest independent exhibits were shown in Capetown, South Africa/2003; Ostrava, CR/2003; Bern, Switzerland/2005; and Boskovicich, CR/2005.
