2 — 16 December 2021 and 4 — 20 January 2022
The exhibition "Jacob's Ladder" at the Havelka Gallery is a dreamlike exploration of the Old Testament story. The exhibition’s central motif is the sculpture Jacob’s Ladder by Petr Lada, complemented by images of clouds and cloud formations by Lada Semecká.
Curator: Vendula Fremlová
In connection with the exhibition, on 2 December 2021, there is a one-day audiovisual project titled “Transcriptions on the Vault” in the Church of St. Martin in the Wall, which is located across from the gallery. Created for the project is a monumental porcelain vessel into which water flows. As the vessel fills, the sound of flowing water is sensed by sound sensors and further processed by drummer Jan Horvát. The changing sound of the gradually filling container relates to the idea of time set into a rhythm of seven days in a week. Seven days are symbolized by seven tones. The uniqueness of man is symbolized by vocal input in the form of singing Martin Prokeš, visual projection by Matyáš Lada.
